A WONDERFUL California Vacation

Yesterday we returned from our Spring Break Trip to California. We had such a good time. Here are a few highlights from our trip:

Daniel loved playing in the sand.

Abby was in heaven running up and down the beach.

Will is always happy to be in Carmel.

Noni humored this fleeing-the-snow Minnesotan and put together a beach picnic. Apparently, March is not a typical time to have a beach picnic in Carmel. (I thought it was perfect!)

Noni spent a lot of time with her grandchildren.

She taught Daniel how to throw rocks into the Carmel River.

Granddad took Daniel to get the mail.

Abby did her best to "clean out the ocean."

Abby spent nearly 2 hours one afternoon in the COLD ocean. A young mother on the beach came up to me as we were leaving and said, "Your daughter is so TOUGH! She's probably going to be a Navy Seal. It was torturing me to watch her running in and out of that water!"

Abby and Daniel took full advantage of the sunshine.

And Abby, Daniel and I had our first visit to Disneyland. (A 12-hour in one day visit to Disneyland, I might add!!)

Abby was so happy to spend time with her cousin Izzy.

They enjoyed the Teacups!

We waited in line a long time for the Finding Nemo submarine ride, but Daniel and Abby decided it was worth the wait.

Cousin Heather joined us for the afternoon.

It was fun to celebrate Aunt Stephani's brother Matt's 31st birthday with him!

We had a wonderful visit with family at Will's aunt Carol's house in Laguna Niguel.

We met Will's cousin Dave's (and lovely Diane's) ADORABLE 9-month old twins -- Caleb and Keilani. And after a few minutes attempting to figure out Abby and Daniel's and the twins' official relationship (first cousin once removed, second cousin, etc...) we gave up and decided to simply go with COUSINS!

And not to be forgotten, the ladies had their own photo.

Daniel got to spend some quality time with his BFF Cousin Heather.

And to my great mortification, Granddad and Will taught Abby how to burn leaves with a magnifying glass!
